True to its name Lakewood has many homes, condos, and apartments on several lakes as well as in a variety of neighborhoods with winding curving streets. It's a great place to live in the Summer with boating, swimming, and lakefront parks! Many of the homes were built in the 50's and 60s, though there are also many neighborhoods of newer homes as well.

Why this Neighborhood is so Great

You can find it all in Lakewood. As it's name suggests, there are plenty of lakes and woods, but you can also find one of the regions best shopping centers, with one of the last remaining large chain book stores. There is easy access to I-5 and Lakewood sits in close proximity to JBLM.

What to do in this Neighborhood

Lakewood has several lovely parks, including American Lake and Ft. Steilacoom Park, with miles of trails, off-leash areas for dogs, and historic landmarks to explore. The Lakewood Towne Center has plenty of dining and shopping options, as well as a movie theater with stadium seating. Don't miss the Original House of Donuts for friendly service and a scrumptious sugar high!

Architecture

Lakewood has a variety of newer construction available, as well as those Brady Bunch houses perfect for families. There are also some older homes tucked back into forested areas waiting to be discovered.
