True to its name, Lakewood has many homes, condos, and apartments on several lakes as well as in a variety of neighborhoods with winding streets. It’s a great place to live in the summer with boating, swimming, and lakefront parks! Many of the homes were built in the 1950s and 60s, though there are also many neighborhoods of newer homes as well.

Lakewood has several lovely parks, including American Lake and Ft. Steilacoom Park, with miles of trails, off-leash areas for dogs, and historic landmarks to explore. The Lakewood Towne Center has plenty of dining and shopping options, as well as a movie theater with stadium seating.
