Marguerite launched the Move to Tacoma Podcast in 2015 as a way to help future Tacomans get to know the city through the voices of the people who live here. Most episodes are one-on-one conversations with local guests. Tacomans interviewed over the past 10 years have included neighborhood advocates, business owners, educators, artists, politicians, activists, historians, and more.

“The best way to learn about Tacoma is to hear from the people who live here,” Move to Tacoma Podcast Host Marguerite Martin

With more than a decade of episodes, the podcast now serves as an audio time capsule of Tacoma’s growth, conflicts, quirks, culture, and the people who make it interesting. Marguerite reflects in the interview that hosting the show has changed her as a person. “I’ve changed because of the people I’ve talked to,” she says. “The podcast gave me access to perspectives I would never have encountered otherwise.”
