South Tacoma is chock-full of affordable historic homes, tree-lined streets, and great parks. I can’t think of a single street in South Tacoma that is more than 5 minutes from I-5—it’s just really easy to get where you want to go from there.
What to do in South Tacoma:
From taking your dog for a walk at Wapato Park to discovering great restaurants on 38th street in the Lincoln District, there is plenty to see and do in South Tacoma. South Tacoma is also the location of the Tacoma Mall if that’s your jam!

What’s going on in South Tacoma:
The South Tacoma Farmer’s Market runs on Sundays from 11am-3pm from June to September. In February, the community celebrates with the TET New Year’s Festival, and there are block parties all over during the National Night Out in August.
Good Eats in South Tacoma:
One of the biggest advantages of the South Tacoma food scene is the diversity. The Lincoln District in particular offers a variety of Vietnamese Restaurants as well as authentic Mexican bakeries. There are also two Asian grocery stores which offer a variety of hard-to-find grocery items.
