The Lincoln District in Tacoma is located in Tacoma’s South End. The Lincoln District is south of Downtown Tacoma and East of I-5. Lincoln is a great location for commuters due to its proximity to freeways and Downtown Tacoma. It’s also great for historic home lovers of all eras, but especially those who love craftsman homes.
Why Lincoln District is so Great
The Lincoln District is named after the iconic Lincoln High School. Lincoln High School was the second high school opened in Tacoma. It’s a beautiful building!
The Lincoln District has also come to be known as the International District. Teeming with cafes and restaurants owned and ran by Tacomans from all over the world, Lincoln is full of surprises. The neighborhood has lovely tree-lined streets with sidewalks framing historic Craftsman homes, Victorians, and Tudors.
In addition to the international restaurants there are also two specialty grocery stores, Hong Kong Supermarket and the East Asia Market if you’re looking for hard-to-find ingredients. There’s also a Safeway.

This popular South End neighborhood is full of places to eat including the famous Vien Dong, Teresita’s Mexican Bakery and more places to grab a delicious Bánh mì sandwich than is prudent to list. The variety of little food shops is fantastic.
