Move to Tacoma creator Marguerite Martin was interviewed by Dave Jones on the Windermere Abode “Inside Abode” Podcast. The Inside Abode Podcast is an unfiltered and local community show hosted by Dave Jones and the team at Windermere Abode, a boutique brokerage in Tacoma’s Old Town Neighborhood.

In the interview Marguerite and Dave talk about how Marguerite came up with the idea for MovetoTacoma.com back in 2015 to be a resource for relocating buyers at a time when there were no other Tacoma Neighborhood Guides.

In the Interview Dave and Marguerite talk about how Marguerite launched MoveToTacoma.com in 2015.  In those days, Tacoma’s housing market was not as active, and “niching down to one city” felt crazy.

Eleven years later, MovetoTacoma.com is one of the most trusted local real estate resources in the PNW. It’s success and business model have been recognized by Forbes, Inman News, and the local Chamber of Commerce. In the interview they discuss why “what’s the best neighborhood?” is a loaded question most buyers don’t realize they’re asking, how real estate agents in Tacoma and across the country literally segregated America, and what steering looks like in 2026.

They also discuss how to handle it when your platform grows bigger than you expected. From community discussions and difficult conversations to Facebook trolls- Marguerite shares how civic accountability in a city small enough that everyone knows the mayor is important.
