Like its namesake Stadium High School, Stadium is perched on a cliff above Commencement Bay and is home to some of Tacoma’s most unique homes.
Why the Stadium District is great:
Even just taking a walk and running errands is a lovely experience—people pride themselves on their gardens, and charming storefronts welcome customers. Many of its finest homes offer spectacular views of Puget Sound, Browns Point, Vashon Island, and Commencement Bay on the horizon.
What to do in this neighborhood:
Right next to Downtown Tacoma, the Stadium District has easy access to all of the the museums, shows (including symphonies, plays, musicals, comedians, ballets, etc.), nightlife and events that the lively and hoppin’ downtown scene has to offer.

Good Eats in the Neighborhood:
Stadium is lined with businesses that are wonderfully local and unique to the area—chains are definitely the minority and local sells! Art House Cafe prides themselves on serving homemade food with ingredients from the Pacific Northwest, and they serve food all day and is a lovely spot to just grab some coffee, too. Frisko Freeze has been a local staple for decades, and the newer Shake Shake Shake is a retro burger joint with incredible milkshakes, burgers and more, all with a 1940s-inspired interior and a fun vibe.
