Old meets New
MEDIAN: $424,250McKinley is on Tacoma’s Eastside. The neighborhood is between Portland and Pacific Avenue and from South 38th Street until about 64th Street. Historically a town called Bismark centered around 64th & McKinley Ave was an important part of Tacoma’s logging history and growth. While the area is now the McKinley you can still see the town’s commercial center and former mills while driving on Mckinley.
McKinley has a mix of historic homes, from Craftsman homes to homes built in the 50’s and 60′. Nowadays McKinley has the largest amount of newer homes in Tacoma with new developments filling in former farmstead and historic industrial properties throughout the neighborhood. Great places to eat and drink include Tami’s in Tacoma (bar), El Antojo (the best Mexican), and Burger Broiler (said to be like In-N-Out). Don’t miss Earthwise Architectural Salvage and the Portland Ave. Nursery.
The Stewart Heights Park and Pool is the place to be in McKInley during the hot hot days of Summer.
