There are some businesses in Tacoma that are just iconic. King’s Books, owned by beloved local Tacoma Sweet Pea Flaherty and it’s feline docent, Herbert.
King’s Books carries a variety of both new and used books, cards, notebooks, and an excellent selection of Tacoma swag of various kinds. The King’s Books employees are very knowledgable about books for both kids and adults. Here’s a video of a visit I made to King’s with my friend Anne!
King’s Books regularly hosts community events, so follow them on Twitter and check out their events page on Facebook. Pro Tip: Don’t miss the 14th annual Wayzgoose Letterpress event, where local letterpress artists will be creating giant letterpress art using a steamroller. It’s pretty cool. This year Wayzgoose will be April 27th & 28th, 2019 from 11am-4pm in the King’s Books parking lot.
King’s Books is open seven days a week from 11am-7pm.
