Marguerite Martin, Tacoma real estate agent and the creator of MoveToTacoma.com, has been named one of South Sound Magazine’s 2026 Women to Watch. She was featured in the magazine’s September/October 2026 cover story alongside three other South Sound women. The four of them took the stage together at the Women to Watch live event on October 1, 2026 at Farm 12 in Puyallup. They spoke about how to build on your strengths, define your own success, and revolutionize the way you live. Enjoy delicious bites, expand your network, and leave feeling uplifted.
Women to Watch is an editorial pick by South Sound Magazine, the region’s main lifestyle magazine, which means the people who cover the South Sound for a living chose these honorees as examples of local women shaping where the community is headed. South Sound Magazine described her as “the closest thing Tacoma has to an official hype woman” and cited her work helping people relocate to Tacoma and the long running Move to Tacoma Podcast as examples of her work in the community.

Why Tacoma
Marguerite has said it plenty of times and she said it to South Sound Magazine too, Tacoma is a real place. She borrows a line from a friend to explain it, that Tacoma is “small enough to make a difference and big enough to matter.” You can meet your leaders here. You can get involved in a meaningful way without having the right last name. People need you here, and that is not true of every city.
Thank you to South Sound Magazine, writer Hailee Wickersham and photographer Jeff Hobson for telling this story with so much care. You can read the full 2026 Women to Watch cover story on South Sound’s website.
