Buying your first house can feel daunting, but working with the right realtor will make the process as seamless and stress-free for you as possible.

In this video, Tacoma Real Estate Agent Marguerite Martin sits down with her friend Consuella, a first-time home buyer specialist, to talk about how first-time buyers can have a successful home buying journey AND enjoy the process, too!

The #1 most important thing to keep in mind when you hire a real estate agent is trust. You really need to be able to trust this person to be your guide and advocate! (And it’s great if you like your realtor, too!)

Consuella shares a *ton* of tips and tidbits for new buyers in this video, but there are a couple of standout takeaways you need to know about:

1. When you start thinking about buying a home, this is the time to reach out to a realtor. A lot of people think they need to save up a bunch of money, find a lender, get a pre-approval, etc. first, but this is just not true. If you reach out to a realtor before you’re ready to buy a home, they can guide you and help you create a plan that fits your unique situation. (Really, we cannot emphasize this enough. Call a realtor first!)

2. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. A lot of first-time homebuyers are afraid to ask “dumb” questions and sound stupid, but really, there are no dumb questions. Your realtor is here to answer any and all questions you may have about buying a home.
