August 2, 2016: National Night Out
With people participating throughout all 50 states, National Night Out is an annual event with the goal of promoting “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.” Tacoma and Pierce County neighborhoods expect a big turnout this year as thousands of people head outside to meet their neighbors and enjoy a summer evening. There are events being held literally all over Tacoma, and you can see a list of times and locations here!
August 6, 2016: Proctor Arts Fest
10am – 5pm
Location: North 26th & Proctor Streets
Featuring 160 arts and crafts vendors, an art show, a kids area, farmers market, live music and entertainment and MORE, the popular Proctor Arts Fest has been attracting 10,000 visitors each year for over 18 years now! Learn more about what to expect at the Proctor Arts Fest here.
August 20, 2016: McKinley Hill Street Fair
10am – 5pm
Location: 35th & McKinley Ave in East Tacoma
Located in the McKinley Business District, this awesome street fair features a great lineup of bands, food trucks, four beer gardens, a health fair with resources and giveaways, vendors, activities, and more entertainment. Learn more about the McKinley Hill street fair in Tacoma here.
August 27, 2016: Hilltop Street Fair
11am – 7pm
Location: MLK Jr. Way from 9th – 13th Streets to include Centro Latino on L Street and other Hilltop locations
With the goal of highlighting the food, music, art, history and culture of Tacoma’s vibrant Hilltop neighborhood, the Hilltop Street Fair promises to be a fun and entertaining event all around. Enjoy local music from four different stages, explore 90+ local businesses and organizations, browse food and artisan vendors, attend the Hilltop Film Competition, check out a classic car show, watch the Hilltop Fashion Show, and MUCH more.
