Tacoma real estate agent and MoveToTacoma.com creator Marguerite Martin (née Giguere) was named to the Business Examiner 40 Under Forty class of 2012 at an event held at the Foss Waterway Seaport in Tacoma.

The recognition came for her work as a buyer’s agent with a specific focus on downtown Tacoma. While most agents cast a wide net across the South Sound and beyond, Marguerite chose to focus on serving buyers in Downtown Tacoma and the immediate surrounding neighborhoods. She also created a popular local blog called, “Get Real Tacoma.com” and guest blogged on “Exit133.com”

That focus on place over territory, and on people over transactions, is the same thread that eventually became MoveToTacoma.com, now an eleven-year-running neighborhood guide, podcast, and YouTube channel documenting the city she has spent her career in.

What is the Business Examiner 40 under Forty?

Business Examiner Media Group’s 40 Under Forty program recognizes outstanding South Sound business and community leaders under the age of 40. Each class of 40 Under Forty represents the diversity and excellence of the South Sound and includes those who have made great accomplishments and significant contributions to their businesses, industries and communities. An alumni panel reviews the candidates to provide direction in the selection of the 40.

Marguerite was recognized alongside 39 other South Sound leaders. Here is a complete list of the honorees for the 2012 Class:
